Great Blue Heron Wood Slice

28" x 12" Live Edge Woodslice

The largest of North American Herons, the Great Blue is often seen standing motionless in the water.  Hunting slowly and deliberately, these birds wait for the right moment, striking quickly with their long, thin beaks.  They will also use their large feet to stir up mud in the shallows, uncovering small prey and attracting fish. Intuitively knowing when to wait and when to stir things up, the Great Blue Heron has become a symbol of patience and wisdom.
